John Lichter's career has been filled with entrepreneurial experiences and accomplishments. In the process of completing a degree specializing in Small Business Management at West Virginia University, John founded "Riversport Whitewater Recreation Center" in Confluence, PA. Upon selling Riversport in 1987, he acquired a Real Estate Broker’s license and joined Business Brokers of America under the tutelage of David Brown. In 1989, he pioneered the concept of single agency “buyer side” business brokerage with a company called Business Acquisition Team, Inc. He became interested in direct mail marketing in 1991 and started a company called Postal Delivery System, Inc. to drop ship direct mail and parcels into postal facilities throughout the country. After selling the company, He returned to Southwestern PA in 2001, where he served as Coordinator of the Institute of Advanced Technology for the Community College of Allegheny County and worked as bilingual customer service agent for National City Home Loan Services before returning to the “noble field of Business Brokerage” with Sunbelt of Pittsburgh in 2006. On November 11, 2008, Mr. Lichter opened the Sunbelt Office of Northern West Virginia. He is actively recruiting and training a select team of professional business brokers to represent serious buyers as well as sellers. His goal is to bring professional business brokerage to rural counties in Northern WV, Southwestern PA and Western MD, providing a positive economic impact to those communities in the process. John resides in Morgantown, WV with his wife: Ann Lawson and Ann’s daughter: Seneca. His outside interests include paddling whitewater rivers, ice hockey, skiing, and bike riding. He likes to visit his daughter, Veronica, who works, lives and plays in Brooklyn, NY.
