We started with a passion for artisan breads (free-form, naturally leavened breads) and extended that passion to making amazing cookies, brownies, cupcakes, and other pastries as well as the best soups, salads, sandwiches, and meat pies. We have a big lunch-time business and a steady flow of customers throughout the day. We just started our catering business and have seen great success so far. Market Competition and Expansion:
Competition: We are an "all scratch" bakery and use only the best ingredients. This is very rare (one of the few left in the country). It makes for the best tasting product. Also, we make 9 different breads in-house. Seven breads are all "artisan breads". We have countless fans that say ALL of our food (soups, salads, sandwiches and pastries) is better than they can get anywhere. However, we are not in a high traffic location. Everyday we have people telling us they had just "discovered" us. Good upside potential for a strong marketer.
Growth/Expansion: Upside opportunities 1. Catering has just started to great success. Huge opportunity to provide catering to local businesses (breakfast, lunch) plus to expand to weddings and other special occasions. 2. Wholesale desserts and breads to restaurants 3. Wedding cakes. We have many requests (because our other pastries are so good), but we don't have the expertise in house. 4. Gluten-Free. There is a huge number of people that are gluten intolerant and there is no fresh-baked gluten-free bread in Utah Valley.
