This specialized machine shop manufactures for the Aerospace and Defense industry. The company's revenues are derived from contract work that is placed out for bid. Numbers shown are from January-March of this year. Typically, contracts are 12 to 24 month in length. Currently, the bulk of the company s business is for the F35 Joint Strike Fighter. With over 95 years of experience working with titanium, aluminum and plastics, the company has an experienced staff of programmers with the necessary skills including CMM Advanced Certification, Advanced Lathe-Mill Combination Certification, Smart CAM Programming Certification, and BobCAD-CAM certifications. The Quality department utilizes a Brown and Sharpe manual and Automatic equipment in a climate controlled room. Prior to 2009, the company primarily supplied machine shops and/or manufacturers that were Tier One suppliers to the Aerospace and Defense industry. As of February 2009, the company is now able to bid directly on contracts now that they have received their AS9100 Rev B certification in February 2009 which, in combination with their ISO 9001:2000 certification, gives them Tier One supplier status. In 2008, the majority of the company's revenues came from work performed for a single Tier One supplier. In fact, the company devoted almost all of its machining capacity to this client upwards of 80%. In June of 2008, the customer stopped using the company to supply materials for their contracts. As a result, the company experienced a dramatic decline in revenue causing the current owners to rethink their business model. The 2008 numbers reflect the loss of this client. As a result of the AS9100 certification, the company's revenues are growing steady and are currently on pace to reach $1M in revenue and beyond.
