Business Overview:
started ABC Co. in February 2001 in order to fully realize my personal potential in the commercial HVAC industry and to provide a better life for my family. Since the day we opened our doors we have been meeting and surpassing our customers’ expectations. We began with a focus on Class A/B tenant finish HVAC retrofit work but soon expanded into plumbing installation as well. As we grew we developed a fully staffed Service Department that focuses on maintenance and repair of existing HVAC and Plumbing systems with an emphasis placed on the best way to increase system efficiency and decrease operation costs for our customers. Over the years as we grew we began to take on larger tenant projects and new construction work as well. Now our construction department is capable of handling any size project from the smallest tenant renovation to the larger new construction of office buildings, medical facilities, churches, schools, and retail establishments.
Another step in our growth came in 2009 when we acquired the service contracts for Coastal Georgia and opened our branch office. We have experienced significant growth in that market, especially on the construction side with numerous projects both private and public. We sold over $4M in new construction/renovation projects in that area in 2011.
We continue to grow, even in the down market, for two reasons. First, we ALWAYS put our customer before anything else. Second, we focus on quality of work and not on becoming the low price contractor. We provide our customers with one-stop shop scenario where they can come to us with a project that is in the earliest design development stage or even in the final permit stage and they know they have a contractor that will partner with them to get a project completed on time and in budget. It is our proactive approach to projects, from the design phase all the way through to closeout that allows us to hand pick projects instead of having to bid an excessive amount of public projects against increasing numbers of under-qualified competitors. This allows us to keep our profit margins at reasonable levels and allows us the time to develop systems for future growth.
I believe that the best path for future growth of the company is a focus on the development of the Service Department. Service work is generally higher margin work with better cash flow than construction work. It is also in high demand even in times when the construction market is slow. An efficient, aggressive service department can directly affect the bottom line of this company exponentially. We can also create considerable growth by staying focused on developing our current customer relationships and only adding new customers that share our philosophy of quality over price. I see continued growth for ABC Company over the next number of years with potential expansion into other markets throughout the Southeast.
Sincerely,
Owner
