Our client is successfully operating a manufacturing facility for equipment used by retail service stores serving the consumer market. The manufacturing operation has been in existence in Germany for more than 50 years with a very loyal, highly qualified employee base in place.
The company provides high-end equipment, mostly for professional studios. During the past 25 years, the company has gained a significant market share in the US market, represented by an exclusive distributor. Said distributor whose sales consist mostly of manufacturer’s products has recently gained sales access to large chain studios with potentially significant order volume in 2011 and thereafter.
During the recession in 2008, the company was slow to react and to execute the needed adjustments. Consequently, the company had to reorganize under Chapter 11 proceedings in 2010. Specifically, significant cost savings were put into place such as subcontracting all accounting / financial functions, shifting research and development and product design to (outside) design firms and to reduce costs of (defined) pension liabilities.
Our client and the US distributor are searching for investors to support the considerable upside potential in the coming years. Our client will consider a partial investment or complete sale.
A valuation for the business according to GAAP(Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) has been performed and is available with a full prospectus to qualified parties.
