As owner and Principal Broker of the Springfield-Branson VR Business Sales office, Jerry Myers specializes in the ownership transfer of privately-held companies, and has facilitated the sale or acquisition of numerous businesses in southwest Missouri. Jerry serves the 17 county area of southwest Missouri, from the Lake of the Ozarks region to the Branson and Joplin areas, and south to the Arkansas line. Jerry was awarded the designation of Certified Business Intermediary by the International Business Brokers Association in 2007, and was re-certified in 2010, 2013, and 2016. Held by fewer than 500 individuals worldwide, the CBI designation is granted to IBBA members who have met rigorous requirements in education, industry knowledge and experience, ethical standards, and continuing education. Jerry brings a wealth of experience and education to each project from his broad background in marketing, finance, and operations. His over thirty years of experience has been in industries as diverse as manufacturing and distribution, food service, automotive, agriculture, retail, franchises, education and publishing. He served in various marketing and operations positions for the Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Company in Kansas City, Missouri for ten years, and has owned a number of businesses, which provides him with a personal understanding of the considerations and concerns of both buyers and sellers. Jerry is a licensed real estate salesperson in Missouri, an active member of the International Business Brokers Association, and serves on the Small Business Council of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Ozark Chamber of Commerce. His columns on selling businesses have appeared in the Springfield Business Journal. A Springfield, Missouri native, Jerry graduated from Drury University in that city with a B.S.B.A. in Marketing. He then earned an M.B.A. from Rockhurst University in Kansas City. He began teaching for Rockhurst shortly after his graduation, in the subject areas of Marketing and Production/Operations Management. He also taught income tax law for H & R Block in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as several management courses for Keller Graduate School of Management. He still occasionally teaches business courses for Drury University in Springfield, Missouri.
