A Better Solution In Home Care - Franchise
Twenty-Five Years of Home Care, Structured as a Franchise
A Better Solution In Home Care began serving families in San Diego in 2000. The brand has franchised since November 2014 and finished 2025 with 30 agencies open across the United States, including two operated by the affiliate.
Franchisees provide custodial, non-skilled, non-medical home care: companionship, personal care and the daily help that lets an older adult stay where they are. Care is delivered in the client's own home and in assisted living and nursing communities. After a year in operation, a franchisee may apply to add skilled services, subject to approval and the applicable state license.
What the Business Looks Like
This is a licensed agency run from a modest office, typically 150 to 750 square feet, with room for two desks and a space to orient caregivers. It is not a storefront and it is not a build-out. Most franchisees open within six months of signing. Each agency operates in a defined, protected territory.
Training and Support
No healthcare background is required, and most franchisees arrive from outside the industry. Every owner completes the ABS Academy pre-launch training program, whether or not they intend to run the agency day to day. If the agency is run by a hired manager, that manager must meet ABS standards and complete the same training. Support continues through launch and into operation, covering recruiting, state licensure, referral development and the operating system itself.
The Candidates Who Tend to Do Well
Owners who are present. The franchisee or a qualified manager devotes full time to the business, and the franchisee keeps ultimate authority over how the agency is run. People who build relationships locally, with hospital discharge planners, senior communities and case managers, since that is where clients come from. Operators who are capitalized beyond the minimum rather than exactly at it. Those with a reason to be in this work, which in home care is more common than in most categories and tends to show in how long they stay.
This is not a passive or absentee investment. Every owner personally guarantees the agreement.
A Better Solution in Home Care offers discounts for veterans and multi-unit franchisees.
