Do I Need ABA Therapy Experience?
You do not need ABA therapy experience and you do not need to be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to own an Autism Oasis franchise. In fact the founders of Autism Oasis are not therapists and come from other business backgrounds. What Daniel Blank and Patricia Ostrow do best is have empathy for parents and a desire to ensure that their children receive the best ABA therapy possible. They also are good people managers.
Owners don’t need to do ABA therapy, they need to manage and supervise those who do. While ABA therapy is the area in which we operate, our core mission is to help children lead healthy and productive lives.
Part of our franchisee training is focused on the basics of ABA therapy, but that’s to give you some basic knowledge, not to make you a therapist. Managing people is the core competency that you need.
Autism Oasis helps you hire BCBA’s and RBT’s. We encourage our franchisee to learn as much as possible about ABA and actually go through the online RBT training program.
