Houston-based Gyro Republic is opening its first franchise in Missouri City, Texas, marking its fourth location.

Under the direction of Ahmer Ali and Ejas Hussein, the store is paving the way for future franchisees to join the brand.

"We are excited to add franchise opportunities to our business, enabling others to become a part of the Gyro Republic family," Founder and Owner Rehan Ranpuri said in a company press release. "The goal is that together we can one day serve Gyro Republic's high quality, healthy meals across the globe."

Ranpuri said he learned to craft the perfect gyro from New York City food truckers. Unlike the traditional gyro, the NYC-style gyro has cubed meat versus sliced and is served with a mayo-based white sauce.

Gyro Republic has taken inspiration from this method, crafting its own version of NYC-style gyros and creating a signature mayo-based white sauce and a signature red hot sauce.

"We want to feed our customers what we would feed our families," Ranpuri said in the release. "That is why we serve fast, fresh, flavorful food that is healthy and customizable by customers."
