Lay Bare is a global hair removal salon, with 109 locations across the Philippines and United States. We’re known for “sugaring”—Using all-natural cold wax jelly, made of sugar, honey, and citrus extracts; with exfoliating, moisturizing and whitening properties. Hair removal shouldn’t be hard on the skin, or the budget—And it doesn’t have to be. Our skill, price point, and premium product sets us apart from the competition, providing clients with luxury experience at affordable prices.

Our goal is to shift people’s paradigm of hair removal. In doing this, we want to enhance customers’ confidence by making hair removal a monthly routine, just like a manicure. With pain and money being large reasons much of the population shies away from hair removal, we’re up for the task. We aim to take our number one hair removal salon status in the Philippines and make it a reality across the US and beyond, providing the most comfortable and affordable hair removal service in every community.

Our History
Our founder had exposure to all types of waxing from hot and hard wax. Sugaring was by far the most comfortable of all, yet not widely known about. She wanted to share the revelation with the world.

Lay Bare first opened in the Philippines, in 2006, offering hair removal services using cold sugar wax jelly. Less than two years later we franchised, and now have 107 locations across the Philippines! When we started, hair removal was not the norm in the Philippines. The culture is conservative, and perhaps because of this, most kept their arm and leg hair. It took a few years to change the way people viewed hair removal, but after being around for 12 years, it’s hard to find someone walking down the streets with leg or arm hair.

After transforming minds and the hair removal landscape in an unlikely place, we set our sights on the U.S. Though hair removal was already accepted in the United States, we saw a hole in the market. There were (and still are) no big players in the “sugaring” game. That led us to opening the first of two Los Angeles locations, in 2012.

Now that we are offering franchises in the United States, you have the chance to help us take the US hair removal market by storm! We’re excited to expand the Lay Bare brand to the rest of California and US.
