Heading into 2020 with 65 new locations in development, it’s fair to say the Pigtails & Crewcuts franchise system experienced strong growth in 2019.

Our concept is generating demand for Pigtails & Crewcuts in communities across the United States. Parents, who once had to drive their children long distances to enjoy a stress-free haircut, are opening Pigtails & Crewcuts in their own communities to serve large populations of families.

You Don’t Need Children’s Hair Salon Experience
The majority of our franchisees do not have salon ownership or stylist experience. The simple reason is it’s not necessary to be a successful Pigtails & Crewcuts salon owner. Our franchisees come from all walks of life – many of them parents who sought a better work-life balance or a career that matched their values better.

Following the axiom, “If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it,” we’re targeting expansion in the Southeast in 2020 with what worked in 2019. With 64 Pigtails & Crewcuts franchises already operating in 22 states, and plans to open 15 additional units along with some of the 65 in development by the end of 2020, we are confident Pigtails & Crewcuts will be 100 salons strong by the start of 2021.

We are homing in on five states in particular:

Georgia – Johns Creek, Cumming, Macon, Augusta, and Athens
Florida – Tampa and Jacksonville
South Carolina – Charleston
Tennessee – Nashville
Kentucky – Lexington
Pigtails & Crewcuts is targeting these areas for their strong, family-friendly communities. Target markets include populations of at least 75,000.

Low start-up costs and overhead give franchisees a head-start toward generating a profit. Our typical layout features a small footprint – between 1,200 and 1,500 square feet – so we’re able to cut down on the initial purchase price for real estate. This also helps minimize ongoing expenses, like utilities and maintenance, as well as insurance and any rent or lease payments.
