Now the largest supplier of BBQ wood and firewood for home and commercial heating in the Brazos Valley region of southeast Texas. The seller started this business 10 years ago and it has grown each year.

Business offers top-quality Oak, Mesquite, Pecan, and Hickory Hardwoods for BBQ, home heating, and restaurants. By offering the highest quality wood around and outstanding customer service, business has a 98% customer satisfaction rating.

Business currently offers local delivery in the Bryan-College Station area. It also provides firewood delivery services to Austin, Houston, and Waco. In addition, customer pick-up orders are available as well.

The sellers restock most of their wood in January-April. The wood they get in January/February is the first they sell in October/November. Likewise, the wood they get in March-April sells in December-January. It turns over every 10 months. The wood must be seasoned at least 6 months to one year in their inventory before selling it.

* Once the firewood is in storage it needs to season for at least 8 months if it is green
fresh cut oak.
* Business restocks most of its wood in January-April. The wood it gets in
January/February is the first that gets sold October/November. Likewise, the wood
it gets in March-April gets sold December-January. Turnover occurs every 8 to 10
months. The wood must be seasoned at least 8 in inventory before it gets sold.
* The business does not come with any equipment. To run it, a buyer would need 2 to
3 pickup trucks (or less with a trailer) to make the wood deliveries to customers.
* The square footage for storage will depend upon how much inventory a proprietor
would like to carry. Best estimate is 20,000-30,000 square feet (or 1.5 to 2 acres).
* Most customers do reorder firewood (i.e., about 70-80 percent).
* Firewood is unloaded by tractor when it arrives and then hand loaded by the
delivery drivers. Most orders are loaded within 15 minutes for delivery.
* Seller suggests renting a fenced lot at least 2 acres in size in town in order to season
the firewood inventory and to be close to customers.
* It is an everyday operation; if customers call, the wood would need to be delivered
or be there for them to pick it up. The busy season is October-February.
* The number of hours worked will vary. In the Fall and Winter it can get busy all day
depending on the weather and temperature. Some days it can be 8 hours or more,
other days it can be only a few orders.
