Business Overview:

This smoothie shop is located in a high-end mall on the north side of town. This kiosk location is outside a major department store and conveniently located in the center of the main walkway; it is impossible to miss. They have been serving smoothies, juice, coffee drinks and bubble tea for 20 years. The manager has been in place for 12 years. Keep the manager and collect about $40,000 in EBITDA or be the owner operator and the Seller’s Discretionary Earnings is about $70,000. This is a business that should do well as the economy reopens. At $120,000, this listing will not last long. This is not a franchise.

The seller opened this business 20 years ago as a franchise. They were unhappy with the franchise and ultimately de-franchised the business. Business has grown over the years as the surrounding area exploded with growth. The mall itself has seen tremendous expansion and patrons come from miles around to shop at the mall. At one point the business was run as a family business with the seller and their children running the operations. During that period the business generated a great deal of cash. Since the seller’s children grew up, the business has been run basically absentee with a couple of full-time employees and scaling the part-time employees as mall traffic picks up in the summer and holiday season. COVID forced the business to close for several months while the mall was closed. Historically, the business had two full-time employees but scaled back to one dur-ing the pandemic. Business boomed during Spring Break this year and the seller will likely be hiring a second full-time employee to meet the demand as every-thing reopens.

A buyer of this business could implement a marketing strategy which might include active social media, coupons, gift cards or other forms to encourage more repeat business. In addition to targeting the mall customers, a buyer could make an effort to target the employees of the other mall tenants.
A new owner could add new products which could include healthy options, as well as adding new flavors.
